Squadlight is a small app with a simple job: one tap tells the friends in your squad that you're free to play. This page explains what the app stores, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. It's written to be read, not skimmed past.
What we store
- Your account. You sign in with Apple. We keep the user ID Apple gives us and the name Apple shares (you can hide your email from us at sign in, and we don't need it).
- Your card. Anything you add yourself: a short name, a photo (shrunk to a small thumbnail), gamertags, and favourite games. All of it is optional.
- Your squads. The squads you're in, their names and emblems, and the games listed for each.
- Signals and replies. When you light up, we record who, which squad, which game and when; signals expire on their own after two hours. One tap replies ("I'm in", "Give me 20", "Can't tonight") are stored with the signal they answer.
- Push notifications. A device token so we can deliver notifications to your phone, keyed by a per device identifier.
Who can see it
Only the people in your squads. There is no public profile, no search, no discovery. Your card, your signals and your replies are visible to squadmates and to nobody else. Squadlight has no feed, no ads, and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication and Cloud Messaging) in the United States, and push notifications are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service. These providers process data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone for advertising.
- We don't read your contacts, location, or photo library; when you pick a photo, Apple's picker hands us only the one you chose.
- We don't use third party analytics or trackers.
Deleting your data
Open the You screen in the app and choose Delete account. That removes your account, your card, your push tokens and your signals, and takes you out of every squad. If you'd rather we do it, email hello@squadlightapp.com from the address tied to your Apple ID and we'll delete it within a few days.
Children
Squadlight is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
